The Car RideThe cool wind lashes her hair across her face as she gazes at the driver. The car smells of stale roses and cigarettes and the carpets are muddied from the day’s adventure. She rubs her finger against the gray dashboard to reveal a strip of green as she wipes away layers of dust. She laughs and shows the driver. The driver looks away in embarrassment, cheeks flaming. She can’t help but think how adorable the driver looks in the afternoon sun, cheeks flushed, and hair being whipped by the wind same as hers.
